What is the contribution of feminist theory to the study of politics?

 

For many years, two main theories of international relations have been taught to us– realism and liberalism which were mainly related to war, security, offensive and defensive issues, malign or benign perceptions of other states and many others. Until the end of the cold war, the advocates of these theories tried to explain all political issues going on the earth through the lens of realism or liberalism. However, we witnessed that after the 1990s, the main theories of political science were insufficient to explain the processes and even failed, as they predicted different events but none of them happened. Feminist theory commenced forming many years before the cold war, of course, however, it started to rise, get more recognition and tried to explain political processes after the mainly collapse of USSR in 1990. They tried to reshape, deconstruct and reconstruct the outlook of international relations theories, explaining many issues from the point of gender view. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to analyse the contribution of feminist theory to the study of politics and analyse the changes that they have made in political science.

Gender in Schools: A Qualitative Study of Students in Educational Administration

 

In the research “Gender in Schools: A Qualitative Study of Students in Educational Administration” by M. Andrews and C. Ridenour (2006), the authors tried to examine gender- awareness training as part of the school program and its impacts on the students as future school principals and leaders. The question was that how gender may play a role in school culture and climate and how much are the students aware of that? 122 graduate students were selected in cultural diversity program, were given specially selected reading materials and authors kept records and did qualitative analysis.

Longevity Gap between Males and Females

 

  From males` birth, it is expected that they will live about 3 years less than the half of the population. The reason is their gender. According to some beliefs, it is the result of men`s working conditions; however, if it was right, longevity gap would equalise in this century because today males and females work approximately in the same conditions. For example, in the 1800s in Sweden longevity gap between men and women was 2, and today it is 4. So, females live about 5 percent longer than men. Recent studies show that the reasons for differences in males` and females` lifespan are lifestyle, chromosomes and taking risk factor.

The Second World War became the biggest war in the history of mankind. Dozens of countries participated in it. Never before had history known war with so many victims. One of the significant events of the Second World War was an attack on Pearl Harbor. This attack changed the course of history. I completely agree with the previous statement. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Japanese Air Forces against the US naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, USA. This military strike led to the United States' entry into World War II. There are numerous reasons why Japan attacked the US base.
